Joey Ayala
Singer, Songwriter, MusicianPopular educator disguised as singer-songwriter Joey Ayala is as native as the export-only pineapples of Bukidnon where he was born. His Ilokano-Chinese-Portuguese-Indian-poet-painter-fictionist genetics plus his folk-rock-jazz-broadway-classical-pop ears plus exposure to indigenous music is reflected in his writing and musical output. He also invents words such as ikotnomics and mandiriwa in an effort to expand the possibilities of his kababayan through workshops that have evolved from music-as-music to art-as-evolutionary process. If he were a beauty contestant he would wish for world peace. Contact joeyayala@blafi.org.
