Ebe Talks about the Camp & Auditions

Ebe Dancel

Former vocalist of the multi-awarded band Sugarfree, who just released his debut solo effort titled “Dalawang Mukha ng Pag-ibig”.

Q: How are the live auditions going so far?

Ebe: “Great! Napansin ko na marami talagang talented sa mga nag-apply”.

Q: What are your expectations for Camp this year?

Ebe: “Personally, I want to jump over to the singers side because I’m curious to hear about what they would be talking about, specifically techniques and form. But you know what, I’m really looking forward to more fun moments especially at night when everyone starts hanging out. It’s always great to have people sit together, eat good food, and have a couple of drinks”.

Q: What was your best memory from last years Camp?

Ebe: “Being inspired by the two Gary’s: Gary Granada and Gary Valenciano. Actually I got to spend an evening with Gary Granada, nakaupo lang kami and we were talking about some of the songs I wrote, and some of the songs he wrote as well. It was just so surreal, sitting beside your hero”.

Q: What was your favorite talk from last year’s Camp?

Ebe: “Kay Gary Granada talaga, kasi parang kanta ang pagka-present nya. His talk was very well written, pinag-isipan, there was a lot of humor, and everything he said made sense”.

Q: What is your message for people who’ve applied to the camp?

Ebe: “Well for the people who’ve applied this year, especially for those who aren’t going to make it, If you really want to do this, I urge you to keep on writing songs and apply again next year. Just because you didn’t make it, it doesn’t mean you should stop writing songs, think of it as a challenge”.
