The Dawn's front man, Jett Pangan, has been singing with the band for 25 years! He shares some of his most memorable experiences with 7101 Music Nation! He'll be joining this year's Camp as one of the mentors for singing!
What was the first song you learned to sing?
I think it was "Ben" by the Jackson 5.
Who taught you how to sing?
The people around me, indirectly. My mom was a good singer and my dad had a knack for singing standards a la Frank Sinatra.
What's the fondest memory you have of performing onstage?
When I broke my front tooth with my microphone.
If you were a student participant of the camp, who would you have wanted to learn from the most? Why?
Ely Buendia. His songs with the Eraserheads are catchy and meaningful to a lot of people in ALL social classes in the Philippines.
Do you have any encouraging words for people who want to join the camp?
Never allow your fears and insecurities to get in the way of your creativity.
